I firmly believe in being passionate about what you do for a career. I am very fortunate and blessed to combine all 3 passions in my work life which are my love for travel, active living, and helping neglected and abused animals. I have developed a niche in my travel business that incorporates active trips and exotic animal adventures tailored specifically to meet every traveller’s budget.
The biggest trend in travel for 2012 is ‘Active Travel’. So what does active travel mean? Active living can be defined as “A way of life in which physical activities are highly valued and integrated into daily living,” according to Certified Exercise Physiologist (CSEP), Art McDonald.
Travelers want to incorporate their active lifestyle while on vacation but still break away from their regular routine. Allowing yourself to try new and adventuresome activities is not only healthy for your mind, body, and soul but can have a lasting impact for years to come both physically and emotionally.
The Wild Side of Travel allows you to discover your wild side by trying new things whether it be kayaking in Belize, a guided walking tour through Tuscan wine country or participating in your first ever marathon. The ideas are endless. A sample itinerary is created for yourself, your family, or a small or large group. Trips can vary from a marathon race in Vancouver one day and sampling wine in the Okanagan Valley the next to trekking Kilimanjaro in Africa and finishing with a magnificent ‘Big 5’ safari. Your wild side is an adventure that can be created for one person or large groups. How about hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu for a few days to explore ancient ruins and then spending the next 4-7 days swimming alongside sea lions and penguins in the Galapagos Islands? The world is your oyster!
If you are looking for a completely active trip incorporating several different activities, I can simply sit down with you to tailor specifically what you want from a walking winery tour to cycling through various European countries. If you are the type of person who wants a balance of R & R incorporated with a little activity, this can be accomplished as well. Your trip is all about you so reward yourself with an itinerary that is as unique as yourself.
Do you love animals?
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing animals in their own environment where they are truly unconstrained. From viewing the ‘Big Five’ from a private game reserve in South Africa to snorkeling alongside penguins and sea turtles in the Galapagos, wildlife can be found on every continent. Experiencing the presence of wildlife is only one part of the journey. With each trip, you can be accompanied by a marine biologist or wildlife specialist to learn about the native species you are visiting to provide a more educational experience on your journey.
From my experience, the largest obstacle deterring consumers from booking a wildlife trip is budget. You can certainly have to be realistic when booking an exotic wildlife trip but many of my clients are surprised when I tell them how affordable it really is sinceI work with all types of budgets.
So have you decided on your next adventure? Come over to ‘The Wild Side of Travel’.
