Bucket List

My list is endless of the places I want to visit, however, if I had to narrow it down, this would be my top ten list on my personal bucket list.

1.  Sensational Africa – Such a diverse country with so much to see.  My passion for animals would lead me to Kenya in search of the endangered gorilla’s, the wildlife in Chobe National Park and Victoria Falls in Botswana, a safari in Namibia, some shark diving off the coast of S. Africa, climbing Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, and of course to finish my expedition, a winery tour in S. Africa.

2.  Machu Picchu – I would love to go and trek the famous Inca Trail to see the spectacular views of Machu Picchu and the Andean Mountains and explore the Sacred Valley.

3.  Biking Tour of the Wine Regions in Italy – Since I love to bike and drink wine, what better way to combine both by exploring the wine regions of Italy.  From Piedmont and Friuli in the north to Tuscany and Umbria in the central part of Italy and finish off in Calabria in the south.

4.  The Greek Islands – There is so much history in Greece and such a wonderful backdrop of views.  I would start my travels in Athens and then start my island hopping journey to Mykonos, Santorini, Paros, Rhodes and many others.

5.  Egypt – This country is more than pyramids.  A trip down the nile on a cruise between Luxor and Aswan.  Journey to the desert to explore ancient ruins, swimming in the red sea and explore the coral, or climb Mt. Sinai.

6.  River Cruise Through the Wine Regions of France – Start off in the romantic city of Paris and then travel to Burgundy and Provence and sample all the fine wine these regions have to offer at some local wineries.

7.  River Cruise Through Russia – Two cities I would love to visit are Moscow and St. Petersburg.  Touring  the Kremlin and Red Square in Moscow and the Hermitage in St. Petersburg but discover some small unique towns and view monasteries and cathedrals in places such as Yaroslavl, Uglich and Goritzy.

8.  New Zealand – Besides the wine regions I would like to explore on both the north and south islands, I would like to take in a rugby game and see the famous ‘All Blacks’, whale watching in Kaikoura, visit Abel Tasman National Park, visit the Fox Glacier, and actually my list goes on and on.  I don’t know why this destination isn’t higher on my list.  This a great place for a person who loves nature and the outdoors.

9.  Patagonia – Even though I’ve been to Chile, I never had the chance to visit Patagonia which is located in both Chile & Argentina.  This place is an outdoor adventurer’s dream.  The most famous and popular destination, the Tierra del Fuego.

10.  Antarctica – I would have to put a second mortgage on my home to visit this destination and this is why it’s #10 on my list so in hopes that one day I win the lottery (sooner than later) and get the chance to visit this remarkable wonder.  To see the polar wildlife in their natural habitat is a lifelong dream of mine.
